Since 1993 it has been the right of residential flat owners having long leases who have owned their flat for two years or more to receive an extension of 90 years upon the term of their existing lease and to waive having to pay ground rent. The legislation evoking the right for an extension is a minefield. We have expert knowledge in this area and are members of the Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners. We are able to advise both landlords and flat owners in all aspects of the process including evoking the right for an extension, finalising the conveyance and registering the same with the Land Registry.
If you are a flat owner and wish to obtain a lease extension together with a number of your fellow flat owners (as opposed to purchasing the freehold) then we can offer discounts on our costs provided there are sufficient economies of scale to enable us to do so.
